Education opens doors to knowledge and skills and helps communities to develop and grow. This leads to better opportunities, higher levels of employability, and sustained development. Temasek Foundation International supports education leaders to enhance educational practices, policies, and curriculum to adapt to the changing needs of society. Programmes we support include the training of leaders, educators, and specialists to build capabilities in education in schools, vocational institutions and technical colleges, and universities.

Key Programmes

Technical and Vocational Education and Training

A critical component of a country's education system, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is key to building a competent, relevant and vibrant workforce, ready to meet the needs of the industry and contribute towards the economic growth of a country. TVET programmes develop frameworks, enhance pedagogy and curriculum, and improve technical knowledge and skills to further standards of TVET education. Countries that have partnered us in these programmes include Malaysia, Timor-Leste and Viet Nam.

Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) Education Training

Building on the progress in TVET Education, the foundation has added on STEM Education training programmes to ensure that students will be ready to meet future needs and challenges of the workforce. Participants are trained on teaching STEM subjects in an interdisciplinary manner that focuses on solving real-life issues using STEM concepts.

Ensuring that education remains relevant to real-world situations is key to a competitive and competent workforce. The Conceive, Design, Implement, Operate (CDIO) teaching and learning framework programme is another education training programme that build capabilities in educators and school leaders to structure their curriculum so that it is connected to real-world systems. Countries that have partnered us in these programmes include Indonesia and Thailand.
